Montessori assignment management portal

A bespoke education workflow system designed to bring order, visibility, and accountability to the full assignment lifecycle, from student submission through marking, moderation, resubmissions, and final reporting.

The Challenge

Assignments were difficult to track, coordinate, and complete on time.

When reviewing Montessori's internal process, it became clear that assignment handling was creating operational pressure. The team needed to keep control of incoming submissions, distribute work to markers, route completed work to moderators, manage resubmissions, and ensure that deadlines were met consistently.

Without a central workflow, it was too easy for assignments to become difficult to trace, slowing feedback to students and making it harder for staff to maintain a reliable academic process.

The Solution

A secure school portal with role-based access and a full assignment dashboard.

Ddesign created a dedicated school portal where each student has an individual login and can upload work directly for submission. Behind the scenes, an overview dashboard controls the full assignment loop, helping staff decide which marker handles each project, monitor progress, and keep the workflow moving on schedule.

The system brings structure to every stage, from first submission to moderation and final completion, while keeping the process clear for both staff and students.

How It Works

Different users, one controlled workflow.

Students Log in securely, upload assignments through their own portal, track progress, and view final outcomes once the process is complete.

Markers Access their own dashboard, download student submissions, mark them, upload completed work, and stay accountable to turnaround deadlines.

Moderators Review marked assignments, adjust or confirm results where necessary, and close the loop before the student receives the final outcome.

Administration Monitor the whole pipeline from one overview panel, including assignments in progress, overdue actions, resubmissions, and completion status.
